Stetlink Hunt

State Game Breeding Station “MIDZHUR” is situated on the slopes of the West Balkan range and the Danube River. It covers an area of 19,500 ha. The relief is varying, mainly mountainous with its highest point Midzhur peak (2,168 m) and lowest point (86 m) in the Bozhuritsa country located in the Danube valley. Deciduous forests predominate over coniferous massifs. The Station is 170 km from the capital Sofia which can be reached through the Petrohan pass or by Hemus highway. The main game species are: RED DEER, FALLOW DEER, ROE DEER and WILD BOAR. Among the predators there are: WOLF, FOX and WILD CAT. The CAPERCAILLIE inhabits the buffer zone of the “Chuprene” biosphere reserve, which is within the Station area.

Tourist information:

Besides hunting, “Midzhur” offers photo hunting and ecotourism. There are opportunities for trips to many tourist sites such as the natural phenomena – Belogradchik rocks, the medieval fortress “Kaleto’, the “Magura” cave with its prehistoric drawings, the Rabisha Lake and the medieval fortress “Babini Vidni kuli” in the town of Vidin.
