| State Game Breeding Station “KOTEL” is situated in the most western part of the East Balkan range and spreads over territory of about 32,000 ha. The landscape has a mountainous character where the forests are located on steep inclined terrain varying in altitude from 250 to 1,128 m. The deciduous forest stands comprised of beech, Turkey oak and Italian oak dominate the coniferous forests of Scots and Austrian pine, spruce etc. The Station is 150 km from Bourgas Airport, 220 km from the airport of Bulgaria’s sea capital – Varna and 370 km from Sofia Airport. The main game species in “Kotel” are: RED DEER, ROE DEER, WILD BOAR and HARE. The representatives of the predators include: WOLF, FOX, WILD CAT and BEECH MARTEN. The red deer trophies vary from 7 to 9 kg, those from roe deer – 350 to 450 g and the tusk length of the wild boar – 20 to 23 cm. The hunting lodge of the Station is located in the historical complex of the village of Jeravna which is an architectural reserve. |

Tourist information:
Apart from hunting adventures, the Station offers its guests visits to museums, historical and architectural sites as well as picnic to “Orlitza” preserve, “Zlosten” and “Orlova skala” natural landmarks.
