Stetlink Hunt

State Game Breeding Station “DUNAV” is situated in the eastern part of the Danube River valley and covers a total area of 20,676 ha. The landscape is hilly to flat and the altitude varies from 344 m in the uplands near Tzerovetz village to the modest 15 m on the islands along the Danube River. Acacia, lime and poplar are the most common deciduous stands which are widely spread over the Station region. The Station itself is about 327 km from the capital Sofia and 200 km from Bourgas airport. The main game species which inhabit the area include: RED DEER, ROE DEER, WILD BOAR, HARE, WOLF, JACKAL and FOX. “Dounav” is one of the State Game Breeding Stations best specialized in Small Game Hunting – for PHEASANT, WILD DUCK and PARTRIDGE. The good climatic conditions and the excellent nutrition base favor the forming of high trophy qualities within the big game populations. Among the best trophies collected here are those for red deer – over 10 kg and marked with 250 CIC points, roe deer – 500 g and of wild boar – over 220 CIC points.
