The resort is situated at the foothill of the Osogovo Mountain, in the fertile Valley of Kyustendil, on both sides of Banska River in western Bulgaria at an altitude of 525m, 90km on south-west of capital Sofia. The climate is transitionally continental with Mediterranean influence. The mild weather is largely due to the beneficial effect of the mountains surrounding the resort from the north, east and west. The average annual temperature is 10.7°C (in July: 21.6°C).
